Dubai Expo 2020 is all set for it’s six month event that kicks off in mid-October 2020. It will be the biggest show ever staged in Dubai and the UAE, already a magnet for worldwide travelers.
Gillian Hamburger, the senior VP, Commercial, Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “We will sell tickets through both, direct and indirect channels globally, to ensure a widespread reach and welcome many million visitors.” She also added, “ With a significant portion of our visitors expected to come from abroad, Expo 2020 presents a huge opportunity for travel companies to sell tickets with value-added travel and visitor services, develop their own travel packages and create one-of-a-kind, exceptional travel experiences for leisure and business travelers.”

Ticket sales pricing along with the types of tickets will be announced by the first quarter of 2019, That’s the earliest any expo has released the ticketing details. Expo launches the details six months before the event starts but Dubai Expo is much ahead.
The senior VP also said that the ticket pricing would be “competitive” with the other world expos held in the past and the process is aimed for the Expo to achieve its 25 million visitor target by 2020 out of which 70% of the audience is expected to be outside of UAE.
Not that only Expo’s premier partners will actively be selling tickets directly to the market, The body is also looking for tour operators in the home market as well as other global markets that will bundle Expo tickets with a package including offerings like food and beverages, transportation and hotel.
Hamburger added that the authorised ticket resellers will receive commissions on an incremental scale based on the number of tickets a travel company sells among all of their travel packages. The companies will also benefit from marketing support, a dedicated reseller logo, inclusion on Expo 2020’s official global reseller’s list and direct and easy access to Expo 2020’s B2B ticketing platform.
Travel companies will also benefit from adding Expo 2020 to their portfolio of travel options, to attract new clients and give quality time to their existing customers which is an extraordinary opportunity for the tourism industry.
