The first World Expo was held in the year 1851 at London’s Crystal Palace. Around 100,00 objects were displayed showcasing the inventions from the industrial revolution in that world fair. The last expo ceremony and event was held in Milan, Italy, in 2015 and the theme of the exhibition was “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Energy saving elevators were showcased in the event.
For the expo 2020 Uber has signed an agreement with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority to test flying cars at the exhibition , this will be another point of attraction in Expo ceremony.
The host country invites various other countries to participate in the event. People from different countries attend the event and come together to find the solutions to the problems faced by the human race. This event provides a platform to various nations to come forward and make people aware of different inventions, cultures of different nations and developments.
Expo 2020 exhibition
Such exhibitions are expected to last for six months. The theme of the Dubai expo 2020 exhibition is primarily focused on humanity and the main theme being “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.
” The main significance of the event will be opening and closing ceremonies. The event will be organized on a site of around 1083 acres in the area which is located in Dubai South area, close to Al Maktoum International Airport and it has 4 main entrances.
The opening and closing ceremonies will be held in Al Wasl Plaza and it will be the heart of Expo 2020. It will be a dome-shaped structure which will be 65 meters tall with a diameter of 150m, which will be able to hold around 10,000 visitors.
The first look was out for the public in April about how the Al Wasl Plaza will convert into a 360-degree screen at night on which the images will be projected to the visitors both inside and outside the event area. The dome will be filled with fountains, waterfalls, parks and palm-lined courtyards, the dome will be the main attraction to the public said Ahmed Al-Khatib, vice president of property at Expo 2020 Dubai.
It will be partly open to the sky at the top and it is said that it will also be visible from the outer space. Everything will be grand and each participating country will have its own pavilion.
The inspiration behind the logo came from a ring found at a 4,000-year-old archaeological site in the desert in the Al Marmum area of Dubai. While revealing the design of the logo Sheikh Mohammed said, “it represents our message to the world that our civilization has deep roots.
We were and will always be a pot that gathers civilizations and a centre for innovation”. The design of the logo was revealed last year and it was displayed in Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
Expo Dubai 2020 Ceremony will leave an unforgettable legacy behind after all the site being prepared for the event is like building another Dubai in Dubai itself. It is going to be a huge event.
